Remtek Students: Stress Awareness Month

Remtek Students: Stress Awareness Month

Stress Awareness Month is more important than ever with the ongoing pandemic resulting in increased stress levels and anxiety for many students across the nation.

We have been busy creating useful content around mental health and stress to help you through these challenging times and guide you to appropriate resources.

The aim of Stress Awareness Month, set up in 1992 is to raise awareness of the causes and cures for stress.  In 2020 the ‘Stress Management Society’s’ services were overwhelmed by people that were struggling and seeking support.

This year’s theme is Community. The ‘Stress Management Society’ explains that “as we emerge from the pandemic, it’s vital that the community support experienced by many people during this challenging time continues.  Although restrictions have mainly been lifted, people need support now more than ever as they adjust to a new way of living.”

One group that we definitely know need that support is students. As part of our mental health drive and to help you stay stress free during exam period, we’ve come up with some top revision tips!

Our top revision tips

  1. Study what you enjoy – start with the topics that you enjoy and then progress onto the areas that you find more challenging.
  2. Take breaks – don’t overwhelm yourself with work and be sure to take time away from your desk to relax and recharge. Make time for your family and friends and remember to take part in activities that you enjoy.
  3. Eat and sleep well – remember to look after your physical wellbeing with good meals and plenty of sleep.
  4. Set realistic goals – don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Make sure your goals are realistic, achievable and won’t result in you becoming overwhelmed.
  5. Choose a study space that works for you – don’t compare yourself to others. Choose a space that makes you feel relaxed and that you enjoying revising in.
  6. Ask for help – there’s always someone to give you guidance or advice. It’s important to reach out to family or friends if you’re struggling.
  7. Positive attitude – you can do this. Always keep in mind that you’re doing a great job.

Keep in mind that exam periods only last for a short period of time and once finished you can enjoy your summer holidays.
